More Photos! :) :) :)
Written by laura on October 2nd, 2008Hello again, it’s Julie’s sister, Laura.  I have some more photos to share with all of you!  The first few are a few extra I took when Julie was still in Isolation, and the rest are from earlier today. Â
Julie is doing well. 
 She is Neutropenic right now, so she isn’t too happy about being confined to the indoors, especially when it comes to eating.  She has really been enjoying the many delicious restaurants Seattle has to offer, but she needs to eat in for now while her numbers are low. Â
She spent most of the day at the doctor’s office this afternoon, but she was up for a nice walk around the city this evening (photos included) :). Â She begins Chemo Friday, to last through the weekend. Â It will all be out-patient, so we’ll try to make her as relaxed & comfortable as possible while she receives it.
Overall, all is well…Julie asked me to let you all know that she will post another blog once she’s feeling up to it…”soon” she says  And whenever she’s not up to it, I’ll try my best to learn how to navigate through this damn blogging thing.  I have to say, Julie, I have a MUCH greater respect for your previous blogs, I had no idea how tedious this can be!  Whew!  Anyway…enjoy the photos and know that Julie is doing well, staying strong & continues to find reasons to smile. :)  Much love from Seattle! -Laura

- For some ridiculous reason, the nurse seemed to think that the XXL scrubs would fit Julie...needless to say, they did not! We thought it was pretty funny though :)

- For those of you who had a hard time hearing Julie while she was in isolation...that weird background noise was her plastic-covered phone! :)

- While Julie was at a doctor's appt, Tiso & I went to REI & climbed their 70 foot indoor climbing wall...

- Tiso made it apprx. 35 feet up before he had to work his way back down...he jammed his finger playing basketball recently & it really started to bother him, so he'll have to try again another time! Great job though, T! :)

- I too reach apprx. 35 feet...but it was right about here that I looked down for the first time & felt a few butterflies flyin' around in my stomach...uh-oh!

- I HAD to get a picture with this thing, it's not everyday you see a sunflower as big as your head! :) Isn't it crazy???

- Julie & I affectionately refer to these 2 little guys as "the bum cats" because they seem to roam the street and we think they keep the bums company...Tiso shows them some lovin' :)

- While I'm a self-proclaimed DOG-person...I must admit, the little bum cats are pretty cute! :)

- Nice Shirt, Julie! :) For those of you who don't already know, Julie's quite the Wheel of Fortune fan, so this shirt is very appropriate!

- Tiso says I take "way too many" pictures...but I say, the more the merrier! Why NOT turn the short elevator ride into a photo-op? ;)

- We decide to take advantage of the beautiful night & go for a walk! :)

- Nothin' wrong with a little piggybackin' here & there when you're on a walk, right? :)

- Our walk also lead us to our favorite little coffee shop, Vivace's! :)

- A Mini-Sun...my absolute FAVORITE flower! I think it's technically called a "Floridian mini-sun"...Susan, Rachel, you two probably know. I like them better than the standard sunflowers because they never droop! :)

Hi Julie (and Laura),
I just found your Website! I’ve been thinking about you for a while now. Someone had mentioned to me that they heard you were ill, but didn’t know the details. I looked for you on myspace and facebook, but hadn’t thought to google your name till today. I’m so glad I found you! I’m sorry to hear you’ve been dealing with leukemia. It’s amazing to me how many people I know now who have had or are battling one form of cancer or another. Anyway, I’ve enjoyed reading your blogs and seeing all the pictures of your family. It’s great to see everyone doing so well. You have such an incredible spirit! I’m so sorry that I haven’t kept in touch all these years. I wish you the best of luck with your bone marrow transplant and the rest of your therapy. You’ll be in my thoughts, and it’s nice to know I can check back here on your progress. I hope we can reconnect when you’re back in Virginia and on the road to remission!
