PHOTOS, PHOTOS, PHOTOS :) :) :)
Written by laura on October 7th, 2008Greetings from Seattle! Today is day 0, also known as Julie’s new birthday!
Enjoy the photos, Julie will post something when she’s feeling up to it. She’s doing well, and resting. Love you, Laura
- The famous Dr. Applebaum & me...just before the donation
- The Giver, giving :)
- Not feelin' too hot at this point...unfortunately, I threw up once the morning of the transplant, and twice while donating. Ewww! :(
- Tiso feedin' me some junk food...he pointed out that he was doing me a favor by NOT feeding me like a bird (and chewing it himself first, before throwing it up into my mouth) Ugh, boys! :))
- Me with my pole-buddy...or maybe I could submit this photo to a modeling agency or possibly to be considered for an ad for hair products? ;)
- Best word to describe how I felt in this one, "Blah" very, very "Blah"
- Julie, remember this next time I want to borrow your clothes! :) Oh, the things I went through to give you the gift of life!
- Mom (AND Julie's 24/7 care-giver) pose for a quick photo before Julie's TBI
- And...while I'm doing my thing, Julie's getting a final measurement just before her TBI (Total Body Irradiation) zap!
- Lookin' good, Julie! Stay still & soak up that zap! :)
- The Radiation Team poses for a quick photo with their favorite patient...Julie has quickly become a favorite to many, which comes as no surprise to me! :)
- Here Julies squishes me! Be careful, we're BOTH delicate, precious cargo right now :)
- After Julie finished with her TBI, she came to recovery to pay me a visit! :)
- Matsui, Rivera, get to work, boys! Get rid of those bad cells! :)
- L-Dogg & J-Dogg, up close & personal :)
- Julie & I agreed that sporting out NYY's jerseys could only help! :)
- I decided to sneak under the covers with Julie...she's about to get the transplant!!!
- The Giver & The Getter, holdin' hands to show some support! :) You can do it, Julie!
- Drum roll, please...Julie shows off her new cells, yet to be transplanted...I kept teasing her, "Julie, you realize that's me in that bag, right? And once you get that pumpin' through your veins you will probably start to talk like me, dress like me, etc." Needless to say, she wasn't as amused by the concept as I was :)
- Out with the old, in with the new...A close up of the new cells entering through her central line...Go cells, go! :)
- Julie reacts to receiving the new cells, "So far, so good" :)
- Las Putitas, siempre feliz cuando juntas! (For all you grammar fanatics, excuse any errors, Julie has always been the grammar-girl, not me) :)
- Hmmmm...looks like she's up to something crafty????
- Haha! Nice, Mom! :) She made Julie a birthday hat, out of the limited hospital materials in the room. You've got the right idea, Mom. Lets celebrate Julie's NEW birthday! :)
- Julie's (improvised) Birthday "Cake"! :) Hey, it's the best I could come up with between the hospital cafeteria & the gift shop
- T-Bone & J-Dogg
- HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JULIE! :) WE LOVE YOU!!!!
- Make a wish! :)
